The Hype Effect
Wednesday, October 29th, 2008 (etc with 1 Comment)This is good:
Saturday was the first time I’d been to church in a while due to being sick. During worship one part of a song stuck out to me. I don’t know the name of it, but the part that really stuck out was:
You hold my world in your hands
I just kinda stopped there….we all live in our own little world to an extent, and we all know the song “He’s got the whole world in His hands” but it’s so impersonal. When we realize that He is holding our lives in His hands………the Creator of the Universe cares about me as an individual……you can’t help but say “wow”.
Senator, your reference to the Constitution was quaint, however if you’re going to cite it, at least cite it right.
Article one, Senator, is about the Legislative branch, the Executive is dealt with in article two.
What you were referring to, was Article one Section three : The Vice President of the United States shall be President of the Senate, but shall have no Vote, unless they be equally divided. However, Senator, you somehow managed to misquote that line too. The VP can only vote in split decisions, constitutionally.
Nowhere in the Constitution, Senator, does it even allude to the VP’s job being to further the agenda of the President. Actually, Senator, if you remember your history lessons from High school, you might remember that originally, the Vice President was the candidate with the second highest number of votes. It wasn’t until the 12th amendment was ratified, that Presidential candidates selected their running mates.
Now Senator, as someone serving in the legislative branch, next time you pretend to know the Constitution and try to cite it, would you mind reading it first?
Can anyone explain why The Maverick who claims to cut spending just signed a bill as big as a novel full of pork?
