In our school room, having been ready to start for the day, watching my mom cry on the phone with my aunt. My siblings and I were 9, 6, and 4. Mom started by explaining to us what terrorism was…
I remember being surprised when they were still talking about the attacks on the news at 5 that evening.

I was at home asleep, when a friend called and told us what was happening. We saw that second plane it, and felt the horror of that. It was a long sad day, but not without its heros. The story of Todd Beamer and “Let’s roll” is one I will always remember and charish.

    Good post idea KP. :)

I was right here sitting where I am now, albeit in a different chair - we had just moved and didn’t have our furniture yet. We didn’t have a TV yet either, so when my dad called and told us what was going on, we kept the radio on solid for like the next week and a half. I was 3 days away from being 13 at the time, so I didn’t really get the significance of the WTC being attacked until several thorough explanations…

There’s not much distinction between that day and the rest of the week for me; we kept getting more news all week and praying for all those who suffered personal loss. It was kind of a surreal time for a 13-year-old kid…

Praise God for His faithfulness to our nation, however; especially that we haven’t had another attack since! (Also thank God for our courageous President!) Thanks for helping us remember, KP!!

I was downstairs practicing my Freedom of Homeschooling! Actually, my parents was practicing that… I was just doing school at home. Thanks so much for remembering, Kierstyn. I wore my “We Remember” t-shirt from NYC, and wrote it on the ordering calendar at my job. I am so upset that the media doesn’t give it the memorial it deserves. At least the mall had a display for it.

You know it seven years in between 9/11 and the 1995 World Trade Center bombing, too. I think that is significant to show that we are winning!

You’re a great patriot. Thank you.

i was getting up for breakfast, still in my pajamas, at 12 years old, and i saw my uncle sitting in the living room chair staring at the tv; he wasn’t even eating his cereal. my grandma was standing next to him, her mouth open in shock.
i asked what was going on, and my uncle told me “they’ve gotten new york”
i’ve never heard him talk like that before or since…
    i thought it was a joke, i prayed it was a joke…
we did drills at school that day, we had a moment of silence.
during drills, i offered to hold a chair up, or a bat, to hit anyone if they came in the door, but my teacher told me that she’d protect us.
i still remember the looks on everyone’s faces…
    i tell you, it’s not a day i’ll forget
