2007: A Year In Review

Monday, January 21st, 2008 (etc with 4 Comments)

2007. It’s interesting how so many things can change in a year.

Politically:

We managed to survive with a Democrat controlled congress, and the surge in Iraq is working despite popular opinion.
We’ve had the earliest election season in history, and it just keeps getting more interesting.

Personally:

I somehow went from a career minded conservative, to accepting and developing a passion for the God ordained role of womanhood. Now at almost 17, I’m looking back on who I am and who I was, and have no one to thank but God for loving me so much and changing my heart. I’ve gone from being a legislative aid, to being a big sister for the 8th time, to courting my best friend, and trying to do what He sets in front of me to do.

Looking Ahead:

2008 promises to be an interesting year. For me personally, it’s going to be full of challenges. Figuring out how to deal with emotions is a totally new concept to me. A year ago, I would never have imagined that I would have been stretched and grown so much, I wouldn’t have thought that I would be courting, or taking trips to Maine, or even bowing out of grassroots campaigning indefinitely - especially with an election coming up. What seemed so inconceivable last year, has become accepted. In the words of Stellar Kart’s “Finish Last”:

People change and plans get changed and everything changes but You, everybody moves around and everything gets pushed around but You. You always stay the same…

So heading into 2008, the biggest thing for me to remember is - everything changes, but God never will.

Annoucnments: StillThinking and Regenerate Our Culture are Back in Business

Saturday, January 19th, 2008 (etc, Announcements with No Comments)

StillThinking- the former webdesign company ran by two bloggers - is back in business. Instead of making websites, now they’re offering blog banners - like the header on this blog. Banners are perfect if you want to set your blog apart but don’t have the time or money for a complete redesign. If you want to learn more or buy one, visit their website.

While StillThinking was starting back up, I found out that Regenerate Our Culture board member Jake Smith is bringing Regenerated Mag back for a new season starting this Spring. There have been some major changes being made to the magazine since it was postponed last fall. This new season is going to be better than when it first came out, so be sure to get on board and check back here for updates!
