While heading west on the interstate and looking at the different colors and wishing that instead of west I was heading north, it occurred to me that seasons are funny things. It would be no fun if fall were year round. It might be pretty for a while, but after so long the reds and oranges and yellows would get dull and we’d find ourselves craving winter or spring. If we had an eternal spring we’d probably get sick of the pollen and wish for summer - if summer were eternal we’d find ourselves wishing for winter to relieve the heat only to wish for fall again.
