YouTube Debate

Well, I haven’t watched the YouTube debate, but earlier while I was watching a music video from The Rocket Summer I clicked to see what questions had been submitted via YouTube. The first one to appear was entitled “GOP Debate Song”. Intrigued, I clicked the play button and this is what it was:

Congressman Paul Broun (R GA) shared his story of how he came to Christ on the floor of the House. This was probably the most beautiful thing I’ve heard coming from the US Government. Check it out!

Essaying

So, while Alex and all the other college kids are busy writing insane [and more boring] essays for finals, homeschoolers from ages 8-17 have an opportunity to participate in the Homeschoolers For Life essay contest. It’s divided up into three categories: Primary (8-11), Junior (12-14), and Senior (15-17). I’ve been having fun working on my essay, which I’ll probably post on Thoughts and Letters after the winners are announced in January. Changes

While heading west on the interstate and looking at the different colors and wishing that instead of west I was heading north, it occurred to me that seasons are funny things. It would be no fun if fall were year round. It might be pretty for a while, but after so long the reds and oranges and yellows would get dull and we’d find ourselves craving winter or spring. If we had an eternal spring we’d probably get sick of the pollen and wish for summer - if summer were eternal we’d find ourselves wishing for winter to relieve the heat only to wish for fall again.

As ironic as it is, the chord that really struck home was that maybe I’m still [stuck] in Georgia for a reason -Read the rest here
