Truth You Don’t Want To Hear
posted September 4th, 2007 in etcYea, and all that will live godly in Christ shall suffer persecution.
2 Timothy 3:12
And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the Lord, to deliver thee.
Jeremiah 1:19
So where did we find the idea that nothing bad or scary happens after we become Christians?
The promise we have is that God will deliver of us out of those scary times, not that we won’t have them.
Dead-on!
How very true it is.
Amein!
Well, it certainly didn’t come from my home….
And if no bad or scary things ever happened, how would we ever learn to overcome them? Awesome point
Ahh, how true indeed.
And considering how little Christians actually suffer in the States…one must wonder…what are we not doing? I think THAT question is the one we truly do not wish to face.
Very true, for sure. It kind of reminds me of a lot of the preachers we see today who seem to want to promise “health and wealth” for anyone who becomes a Christian. While I have no doubt that God will bless us, it is obvious that scary stuff does happen. But, Alex hit it on the head, God uses these scary times to teach Christians many lessons.
Good post,
Matt
Hey! I did the Georgia teenpact that you staffed…. I’m thinking about doing the Back to D.C., are all the staffers going to be there? If you’ve ever been, I would love to hear about it.
Hehe, very true. This reminds me of the teachings of Ray Comfort — Being a Christian is tough. But Heaven pays off in the end.
This is so very true. Many want to think that we will be perfect once we are Christians, but it is not so. I believe that somewhere in the Bible it says that we will have to take up our cross and follow Him. (Someone help me out– what verse is it?)
Anyways, keep up the good work in encouraging others!
Very true….thank you!
