Legislative Update - Session Terminated.

Wednesday, January 31st, 2007 (Government, etc with 7 Comments)

CapitolNo, the General Assembly didn’t get blown up in a low profile terrorist plot to destroy the GA government.

My internship was brought to a sharp end today. No, I wasn’t fired, I was following what I believe to be God’s will.

The last two weeks my family and I have been “under fire” and came to the conclusion last night that alot of it is due to me being out from 6am - 5:30pm on little over 5 hours of sleep.

Needless to say, this along with many other reasons and clues brought about the decision that interning this year simply isn’t going to work.

I loved my time there and enjoyed playing “which committee” and learning my way around the Capitol. I’ll miss watching the GA version of C-span. However, on the bright side, now that I’m at home I can refocus on helping mom get better, Regenerate Our Culture, and studying subjects that I’ve had to put off due to the craziness. Potentially having time to update Politically InCorrect is another benefit of my leave.

That being said, Regenerate Our Culture is launching a new issue tomorrow so be sure to check it out, and come back here for (hopefully) more politically incorrect commentary!

Musings

Was venting yesterday, and decided to record a piece I had written a while back. You can listen to it here.
Also, be sure to check out Kingdom Advancer’s blog, he’s talking about a very interesting issue over there.

Wait…What Happened to Separation of Church and State?

Thursday, January 11th, 2007 (Current Events, Government with 7 Comments)

*I find it ironic that the liberals and the media constantly hail separation of church and state as a good and natural way of life. Evidently they don’t bother to sit in on legislative sessions or judicial hearings. In each of these settings there is a blatant acknowledgement of God and Jesus Christ. When the Supreme Court and Congress conviene they start the session with prayer. Not to allah, or budah, or mohammed, but to Jesus Christ. Even in my  State’s General Assembly we open up each session with a 15 minute sermon and prayer.

Alot of people now have the mentality that the “Church” should stay out of the affairs of the “State”. However, if we continue to ignore the fact that we are One Nation Under God and were established as such, we will be - as Reagan put it - One Nation Gone Under.

The fact that even the government - at least the State Government - does acknowledge God on a daily basis leaves one to question just how “offensive” it is to be politically incorrect.

* Posting during session is by no means going to be frequent. The thoughts posted above are strictly those of the author and not the liberal media or General Assembly’s. *

Notification Of Potential Absence

Friday, January 5th, 2007 (etc with 3 Comments)

Some of you may have noticed the extended period of time that has been passing between posts. Unfortunately that trend will continue for about 3 more months. God has granted me the opportunity to intern at my State Capitol for legislative session. As a result, this has taken quite a chunk out of my schedule and taken blogging off of my priority list. However, I am still writing with Regenerate Our Culture, so be sure to check them out on the 1st and 15th. While you’re at it, make sure you head over to Regenerated Radio and listen to the podcasts!
